The place's history
A village with medieval roots
Viișoara, a village in Mureș County, carries the mark of centuries. Settled in the Middle Ages by Transylvanian Saxons, the place has preserved a unique architecture and culture. Empress Maria Theresa left visible traces throughout the region — from fortified churches to the rural organisation that persists to this day. Gasthaus Hundorf literally means «the guest house of Hundorf» — the German name of the village, a living bridge between past and present.
